generation adidas international Pilots Project with E.F. Education First: The World Leader in International Education

Over the past few months we have been working with E.F. Education First, the world’s leader in international education, to create an innovative pilot program that immerses students in Spanish language and culture. Traditionally, travel with E.F. doesn’t have a soccer component, but we thought, “What better way to show students an important part of Spanish culture than through soccer?”

Our first joint program participants joined us in Spain all the way from Canada. Their week-long trip had some unforgettable soccer experiences – attending professional soccer matches, training at professional youth academies, tours of some of Europe’s most incredible soccer stadiums, competition against local youth clubs, and attendance of professional first team training sessions.

Check out some of the highlights of their program with us!

Professional Soccer Matches

Our E.F. Ottawa City Soccer Club friends had the time of their lives watching Atlético de Madrid dismantle Celta de Vigo 3-0 at Atletico de Madrid’s stunning new Wanda Metropolitano home stadium.

Training at Professional Youth Academies

The group trained at the spectacular Real Madrid C.F. Real Madrid City training complex in the Spanish capital of Madrid.

The E.F. group also trained at R.C.D. Espanyol, another first division La Liga team, in Barcelona, Spain.

Tournament Play and Activities with C.D. Cobra, a Local Spanish Club

Players and parents from a local Castilla la Mancha club prepared a Spanish style barbecue to share with our E.F. group from Canada. Activities included a mini-tournament with team bonding games and a delicious churrasco (barbeque).

Stadium Tours

We couldn’t go to Barcelona without taking our E.F. Canada group to the Camp Nou, home to world famous F.C. Barcelona.

First team training session

Our awesome partners at R.C.D. Espanyol even arranged for our E.F. Canada group to observe the R.C.D. Espanyol first team train, which is something pretty special. A first class soccer experience to cap off a great tour.
