Through its partnerships with top professional football teams and national federations, generation adidas international offers a unique exposure to international coaching ideas and philosophies, styles of play, and tactical systems. This fully inclusive program is available to youth clubs and university teams and coaches, and offers valuable insight into the youth development approach of S.L. Benfica, one of Portugal’s preeminent clubs.

S.L. Benfica was founded in 1904 and is one of the “Big Three” clubs in Portugal that have never been relegated from the top division since its establishment in 1934.

Benfica is nicknamed Águias meaning eagles, for the symbol on the top of their club crest, and Encarnados meaning reds for their shirt color.

S.L. Benfica is considered the most successful Portuguese club in terms of domestic titles, and are the only team to have won all Portuguese competitions. They have won 34 Primeira Liga titles, 25 Taça de Portugal trophies, 6 Taça de Ligas, and 5 Supertaça Cândido de Oliviera trophies. They were also the first team to win the league with an undefeated season.

S.L. Benfica have been playing their home matches at the Estádio da Luz with a capacity of 65,647. This stadium was also the venue for the UEFA Champions League Final in 2014.

Day 4:

  • Lunch at CFC cafeteria

  • Attend to youth academy trainings

Day 5:

  • Youth academy training observation (subject to academy calendar)
  • Lunch Lecture #6 – Theme to define
  • Attend Primeira Liga match (if combines with calendar)

Day 6:

  • Sightseeing Lisbon: Historic area of Alfama-Baixa, and cultural quarter of Chiado-Bairro alto…
  • Sightseeing in the historic city of SINTRA, UNESCO World Heritage Site

Day 7:

  • Depart Lisbon, Portugal


Having the girls meeting the Real Madrid players was an unforgettable experience for them. Also training and staying at the top class facilities of the City of Futbol gave us the opportunity to really prepare for the season
