The Real Sociedad Academy trains at the Real Sociedad Zubieta training complex in the north of Spain on the Basque coast. Like other Spanish clubs, Real Sociedad places great emphasis on its Academy system, and developing and promoting homegrown players.

Until the late 1980s, in fact, the club only recruited Basque talent to the club, and even today it largely focuses its recruitment efforts on local and regional Gipuzkoa clubs. Of European clubs, the Real Sociedad first team has one of the highest percentages of homegrown players.
Real Sociedad de Fútbol, or ‘La Real’, is based in beautiful and charming San Sebastian in the Basque Country in the north of Spain.
The club was one of the founding members of La Liga during its initation in 1928. Since that time, the club has won two La Liga titles and also two Copa del Rey titles.
One of Real Sociedad’s biggest rivalries is the ‘Basque Derby’, played against fellow Basque team Athletic Bilbao.
